My Approach
I am a compassionate, creative and innovative highly specialised clinical psychologist and systemic practitioner. I hold a deep-rooted passion around integrative and trauma-informed, formulation-driven practice with children, young people, families around every level of their lives. I value building on safety, strength, curiosity and connection through empowerment and hope to support children, young people, families, professionals, and systems achieve identified change towards endless possibilities.
My extensive clinical and research experience spans over twelve years across a wide range of NHS, social, third sector and private healthcare organisations. This experience equips me with a wealth of highly specialised knowledge, skill and passion around supporting children, young people, families, and professional systems. This includes understanding and supporting the complex emotional and neurodevelopmental needs and wellbeing of children and young people from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds.
My adaptive and flexible style includes engaging with qualities and positions of humanity, compassion, non-judgement, curiosity, empathy, collaboration, equality and respect towards delivering high quality psychological input. I strongly advocate for the meaningful voices of children, young people and families as central to any therapeutic approach I take. I aim to take time to set up sessions through listening and developing a shared and collaborative understanding of your needs towards planning together what would feel helpful to work towards while ensuring that these agreed interventions continue to feel useful beyond sessions.
My responsive clinical practice utilises an integrative therapeutic approaches through adopting an overarching systemic lens while integrating and tailoring different models, methods and techniques from a variety of evidence informed psychological models towards meeting the dynamic needs of children, young people and families. I hold additional training and particularly enjoying practicing trauma informed therapies such as; Eye Movement De-sensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Trauma Informed CBT, Systemic and Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
In line with my motivation and interest in continuously improving the development of safe, high quality and effective mental health provisions for children, young people, I am passionate about supporting organisations and professionals. I aim to inspire the development of responsive, nurturing and supportive practice around children, young people and families through a trauma informed lens. With this, I enjoy and see great value in supporting organisations and professionals through clinical supervision, consultation, reflective practices spaces, teaching and training.
